Troubles in the Wilderness lesson from October 2...

This week there were many Bible stories to choose from. (Exodus 16-20, 32 and Numbers 9:15-23, 11:1-15) Each classroom chose the story that aligned with their craft or activity.

I think one of the most interesting lessons in the bunch is that of the 10 Commandments. I find it really comforting that even though God found his people disobeying his wishes, he still lead them to the Promise Land. It is a great deal like being a parent :) I might have to punish you for doing something you weren't supposed to do, but regardless of how angry or upset you think I am, I still love you!

Our Weaving God's Promise curriculum has a really fun way to remember the order of the commandments-- just remember Snickers bar:
S-- Steal, you shall not.
N-- Name of the Lord, do not misuse.
I-- Images and idols are not to be worshiped.
C-- Covet your neighbor's property, you shall not.
K-- Kill, you shall not.
E-- Elevate other gods before Me, you shall not.
R-- Remember the....
S-- Sabbath, to keep it holy
B-- Bear false witness, you shall not.
A-- Adultery, you shall not commit.
R-- Respect and honor your father and mother.
